Meling Biomedical · Buying Guide

Verify the intended use, the exact refrigerator listing and the monitoring evidence your program requires.

Use the storage instructions and local program requirements to define suitability. Then verify the exact refrigerator’s temperature range, model-specific documentation, monitoring arrangement and facility acceptance plan.

Start with the product and the program

Record the required temperature range and any product-specific handling, monitoring or alarm requirements. For vaccines, consult the applicable national and local immunization guidance and the product information. The Public Health Agency of Canada and the US CDC publish guidance for their respective programs. Confirm which requirements apply to your facility.

Evidence to collect before purchase
Requirement What to verify
Storage range Product instructions and applicable program requirements
Documentation Exact model and electrical configuration, intended-use material and required certificates
Monitoring Device, calibration evidence, logging, alarm delivery and records
Acceptance Site procedure, alternate storage and responsible reviewer

Request evidence for the exact model and version

The four Meling YC models listed here have a 2–8°C operating range. The YC-130L product page cites NSF/ANSI 456 for that model. Where your procurement requires a certificate, obtain current documentation for the exact quoted unit. FDA Facility Registration and Product Listing is a separate status. FDA explains that registration and listing do not confer approval, clearance or authorization.

Confirm the monitoring arrangement

Check how the facility will collect temperature records, who receives alarms and what backup arrangements the applicable program requires. Compare the model’s listed logging and alarm functions with any separately specified monitoring device. Determine who will verify that the full configuration meets the acceptance criteria before use.

Document the decision and receiving plan

Keep the selected model, exact configuration, equipment evidence and program requirements in the purchase record. Include the receiving location, intended setup, alarm responsibilities and any site verification your organization requires.

Common purchasing questions

Does a 2–8°C range by itself establish vaccine suitability?

Use the range as an initial selection criterion. Confirm product instructions, program requirements, equipment documentation and monitoring arrangements for the actual configuration.
