Laboratory Vacuum Pump and Filtration Buying Guide
Share
Compare VivTek diaphragm, economic and VacStar vacuum pumps and glass filtration kits by vacuum requirement, flow and sample compatibility.
Where to start
Specify the application and required pressure at the point of use. Compare pumps by both pressure and flow, then check their compatibility with the vapours and connections in your system. Select filtration glassware around the sample and filter format.

Compare pump families
-
Diaphragm Vacuum Pump
The DVP table lists 30 and 60 L/min options and gives separate vacuum figures. Compare the specific model’s pressure and flow.
For a 5 L rotary evaporator, see the VivTek RV-05 and pump options. Confirm wetted-material compatibility, target vacuum, flow at the operating point and controller connections before requesting the configuration.
-
VZX economic vacuum pumps
The VZX table lists different flow and oil volumes and both KF-25 and KF-40 connections across the range. Match the exact connector to the system.
-
VacStar vacuum pumps
The VacStar table lists RV-8, RV-16 and RV-24 with model-specific flow, oil volume and power. Use those rows when comparing the pump to your installation.
Specify filtration glassware
-
Glass Filtration Kits
The glass filtration listing identifies a borosilicate assembly, filter options, a liquid remover and a diaphragm pump. Confirm the included components and connections for the kit selected.
What to include in your quote request
- State the required pressure, flow and expected duty cycle. Ask which rating applies to the exact configuration and electrical supply.
- Identify vapours, liquid carryover and any traps or separation the installation requires. Ask for the documented materials and compatibility.
- Give your glassware or equipment connection sizes. For filtration, add filter diameter, receiving volume and whether you need a complete kit or replacement part.
