Benchtop VivTek rotary evaporator with glass flask, condenser and heating bath

Rotary Evaporators and Short-Path Distillation

← Back to Buying Guides

Compare benchtop and larger VivTek rotary evaporators with short-path distillation sets. Start with the separation you need, then size the system around the batch.

Where to start

Compare rotary evaporation when the workflow calls for solvent removal or concentration. Consider a short-path distillation set when the method specifies that glassware arrangement. Confirm the evaporating flask and the practical working charge before selecting a size.

Benchtop and larger rotary evaporation

  • Rotary Evaporator Benchtop 1-5L

The RV-01, RV-02 and RV-05 table lists different evaporating flasks, receiving flasks and baths. Check all three sizes for the benchtop workflow.

The 5 L RV-05 lists DVP-30B (30 L/min) and DVP-60A (60 L/min) as separate options. Compare standalone diaphragm vacuum pump specifications and ask which pump, controller and connections fit your solvent and operating pressure.

  • Rotary Evaporator 10/20/50L

    The RV-10, RV-20 and RV-50 list 10, 20 and 50 L rotary flasks and 5, 10 and 20 L collection flasks respectively. Confirm the intended working charge.

What to include in your quote request

  • Specify the solvent or mixture, starting batch volume, intended recovery or concentrate, and any product temperature limits.
  • Provide the required operating pressure and coolant conditions. Request compatible pump, condenser and receiving-flask options for the quoted setup.
  • Ask which glassware, seals and accessories are included, and allow room for lifting and handling the larger components.

Specifications and sources

Specifications and options are from the linked Solution Instruments product listings. Confirm model-specific configuration and included accessories before ordering.
