DW-FL450 Ultra-Low Freezer

The Meling Biomedical DW-FL450 provides 450 L (15.89 cu. ft.) of frozen storage within an upright, dual-compartment cabinet. Its two-door layout and twelve ABS drawers help organize stored materials and provide separate access to each storage compartment.

The freezer combines a −20°C to −40°C temperature range, microprocessor temperature control, two compressors, temperature logging and multiple alarm functions for laboratory and biomedical storage. The cabinet measures 856 × 789 × 1,960 mm (W × D × H) and includes foam-insulated doors, a safety lock, a circuit breaker and four casters, two with brakes.

Temperature Control and Refrigeration

The DW-FL450 uses a microprocessor controller and digital display, with temperature readings displayed in 0.1°C increments. Its refrigeration system features direct cooling, manual defrosting, two compressors and R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant.

Manufacturer internal testing reports the following typical performance:

- Upper-compartment temperature uniformity: 2.0°C
- Lower-compartment temperature uniformity: 1.7°C
- Pull-down time to −40°C: 2.1 hours
- Temperature recovery after a one-minute door opening: 0.7 hours, equivalent to 42 minutes

These figures are based on internal testing at a −40°C set point and a 22°C ambient temperature.

Temperature Logging and Monitoring

The built-in data logger records temperature every 10 minutes and stores up to 100,000 temperature records. A USB port supports data export.

An RS485 interface and remote alarm contact provide additional connection options. The freezer also includes a backup battery and two access ports, each 25 mm in diameter.
